III. Answer the following questions

        The sparrows built the nest in a nice spot in the roof of Ramayya’s house. The male bird picked  up a diamond stud from a heap and came to the nest with it The female sparrow did not want the diamond stud. So the male sparrow dropped the diamond stud on the floor. Ramayya’s wife noticed the jewel while sweeping and Ramayya questioned her angrily how she got it. Ramayya wanted to deliver the jewel to the village magistrate. If the police searched their house, it would be a disgrace.  The maid-servant Kuppayi was suspected of stealing the diamond nose stud but the police could find nothing in her hut. Ramayya’s wife put the stud away in her box. Ramayya’s wife got scared and fell sick with a fever and became bedridden. Her rest of the life was spent in fear of being caught by the police.
